George Reginald Upham born July 8, 1924 Kent, England, passed on Wednesday, September 20, 2017 at Mission Hospital, Mission Viejo, California. He lived with Elisabeth, his wife of 45 years, in San Juan Capistrano.
Born to Walter and Ethel Upham, he enjoyed his childhood being the youngest of eight siblings. George was an athletic youth representing his school and the County of Kent in the All England Schoolboy Track & Field Championships. He played tennis, cricket, professional soccer and even joined a jazz club playing drums. After WWII he joined the Royal Air Force and sailed to Bombay, India, subsequently stationed at Mauripur Air Base outside Karachi, Pakistan. Eventually he took an interest in genealogy and can trace his ancestors back to 1663.
Always being enamored of America he made the decision to immigrate to the United States in 1948 where he met his first wife, Patricia, and had four surviving children together.
He was a wonderful, caring person and husband and will be greatly missed by all.
