Gerald (Jerry) Klein was born on May 24, 1931 in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania and died peacefully on Thursday, June 19, 2014 in Laguna Woods, California at the age of 83. Jerry is survived by his loving wife Surri Klein, his three sons and two daughters, Jeffrey Klein (Mellissa), Daniel Klein (Judy), Steven Klein (Tina), Naomi Moser (Walt) and Mindy Stein-Rosenblum (Marc). Jerry was also blessed with seven grandchildren Amanda Klein, Rebecca Klein, William Klein, Maya Klein, Marc Moser, Courtney Cannon (Patrick), Shaina Rosenblum, and 2.5 great-grandchildren, Kylie Cannon, Kinley Cannon and Baby Canon due in October 2014.

Jerry was an Air Force veteran. He spoke of his service often and was very proud to have served his country

Few people enjoyed life as much as Jerry, and those who were fortunate enough to have known him had richer lives as a result. Jerry was larger than life and had a zest and a zeal for everything in it. He loved being the center of attention, wearing crazy outfits, giving speeches, applauding after meals, and singing "Happy (whatever the holiday was) to You" at every occasion, but most of all, he loved his family. Jerry was so full of life, full of humor, and full of affection.

These words do him little justice, for he was truly one-of-a-kind. He won't just be missed; we, as his friends and family, have all lost a little part of ourselves with his passing. Jerry would have said, "Hey! Why all the sad faces? Let's have a big a party and say good things about me!" And yes, he would have been wearing an outrageous shirt at the time.

When asked recently if he would have done anything different in his life, he said that he did it all, and would not have changed a thing. That is a well-lived life.

No one was more loved.

A Celebration of Life is being planned for a later date.
