Gilda Ann Grego, 96, a longtime resident of Los Angeles, passed away on November 11th, 2025 in Mission Viejo. She was born in Los Angeles, CA on March 10th, 1929. Gilda graduated from Montebello High School.
Gilda loved the piano and taught piano lessons for over 60 years. One of her greatest accomplishments was competing in a high school competition where she performed at the Hollywood Bowl in 1946-47. She was an avid music lover even serving as an usher at Philharmonic Auditorium in the 1940's. She was an organist in various churches across Los Angeles.
Gilda was self-educated and an avid reader. In her younger years her hobbies were horseback riding and skiing. Gilda loved animals and her most loyal companions were her dogs.
She was a devoted daughter, sister, aunt, great-aunt, great-great-aunt and teacher.
Gilda is preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Anna Grego, sisters, Marie and Annunciata, brother Edward (Rosemary) and nephew Michael. She is survived by nieces Gina (Kevin), Michelle (Jeff), niece in law (Michele), great nephews Chase and Zack, great nieces Tianna, Nicole, Angelina and great-great nephew Trent.
