Obituary

Gina Maree Husk, born March 15, 1958, passed away on Monday January 11,2021 at the age of 62 years old at Saddleback Memorial Hospital after losing her battle with COVID-19.

Gina is survived by her loving husband Cory Husk, her daughters Chelsee Husk and Cierra Gonzalez, her son-in-law Gonzalo Gonzalez Jr, and her fur babies Sophie and Harper. Family was always so important to Gina and her beautiful life and memories will forever be cherished by them.

Gina was born and raised in California to Joann Maree Jones and Jim Jones. She has a brother Jason Jones and a half-brother Joseph Jones. She grew up in Newport Beach and Huntington Beach, where she attended Edison High School and Orange Coast College, and moved to Costa Mesa after meeting Cory James Husk in 1987 to start a family. The two got married on December 12, 1987 and had two beautiful children, Chelsee Maree Husk and Cierra Mckenzie Husk. They bought a house and moved to Lake Forest where they settled down to raise their family.

Gina worked as a Suite Attendant at the Honda Center for 26 years and also briefly as a school nurse at Mission Viejo High School. She was loved and adored at the Honda Center and the suite owners would specifically request her due to her charismatic personality and her great customer service. If there was one thing Gina knew how to do, it was to entertain and go above and beyond to make people feel special.

Gina was known for being able to make a friend with just about anyone.Whether it be at the grocery store, the DMV, or just walking around Home Goods. If you were in her presence, you would make a life long friend. Gina loved to make people laugh and smile, whether it be finding a funny shaped rock or playing a funny prank on you just to catch you off guard and see your reaction. Her sense of humor could lighten any mood. She was so loved by so many. She leaves behind her an amazing legacy of deep friendships, good laughs, and even better memories.

She enjoyed taking trips out to the desert and especially trips to Jalama Beach with her family and pups. She loved the adventures, friends, and food. She'd come out of the motorhome and surprise everyone around her with a well-thought out table full of appetizers and food decked out with themed décor and ambiance lighting while they were literally in the middle of nowhere. But that was Gina, the entertainer. She was known for her extravagant super bowl parties and well-thought out family holiday dinners.

Gina's greatest pleasure in life was gardening, which she was naturally gifted at.She could make any plant flourish, no matter how far gone it was, and loved to spend hours in the garden on the weekends. The neighbors can agree that it was unusual to see Gina out in the yard with the green waste bin on a Saturday. Her garden was her pride and joy and could even serve as a supermarket in the summer with all the fruit trees and vegetables she would grow. With her love and attention, there wasn't anything she couldn't grow.We like to think whenever it rains now, it's just Gina watering her garden...

A celebration of life has not been scheduled yet due to COVID-19 concerns. When a date is set we will reach out and share the location, date, and time with all of her family and friends. It is likely to be some time early next year.
