Obituary

Greg Berry was born on August 24, 1955 and entered Heaven on August 9, 2016 at the age of 60 at his home, as he wanted it. He is survived by his devoted wife: Noreen; his children: Keith, DeLayne, and Trevor; his Mother, DeLayne; as well as his siblings: Steven Berry of Bakersfield, CA, Shannon Berry of Cottonwood, AZ, Daniel De Morgandie of Las Vegas, NV, Shawn De Morgandie of Las Vegas, NV, Maurice De Morgandie of Costa Mesa, CA, Gigi De Morgante of Kodak, TN, and Jobe Walko of Saint Petersburg, FL; his Mother-in-law, Jane Collins; his loving in-laws, his nieces and nephews, his vast number of friends he calls family, and the many young ball players he has coached.

Greg was born in Klamath Falls, Oregon to his parents, DeLayne Berry and Sam De Morgandie. In 1985 he married his wife, Noreen Collins, in Laguna Hills, CA. Greg grew up in Bakersfield, CA, and was raised by his mother and his "second" father, Kenneth Berry. Greg had fond memories of his childhood with his father, often jumpin' in the pickup and racing off to the local elementary school to play baseball with this father and brother. This is where Greg's love of baseball began to bloom. He later lived in Colorado, San Clemente, Los Alamitos, and Lake Forest, CA. In 1987, 1989, and 1992 he welcomed each of his children. In 2010 he was faced with the biggest battle of his life, cancer. Like the warrior he was in his life, he fought this battle with his strength and passion. He fought until his last breath. He left this world on his terms and his way, as we all know he would.

Greg was a lover. He was a lover of family, friends, nature, and humanity. The capacity of his heart was never full, allowing to spread love and security to any and all. He was a treasured friend to many. He was an avid outdoorsman, hunting, fishing, and shooting. His passion was baseball and sports. If he could, he would have devoted his life to coaching. Greg found his purpose in teaching the game of baseball. He took pride in teaching his boys how to be a sportsman. He had a one-of-a-kind sense of humor. Greg adored his wife and partner, his children, and family. He will be sorely missed by his friends and family.

Greg will have his ashes scattered in places he loved and felt most at peace.

An invitation to all and anyone who Greg has touched with his life is welcome to celebrate his life with his family on Sunday, August 14, 2016.

Services will be held at 11AM at McCormick & Son in Laguna Hills, CA.
