Born and raised in Denver Colorado, Gregory Ann Hinshaw passed away peacefully at the age of 75 on December 18, 2022, surrounded by family at her home in Laguna Hills, California. "Greg" is survived by her husband of 50 years, Don Hinshaw, their 3 daughters: Shannon Hinshaw (Beth), Tiffany Arhin (Kojo), and Courtney Hinshaw, and their 4 grandchildren Jayden, Harper, Cason, and Keaton.

After Greg graduated from the University of Arizona, she taught French in Denver Colorado. 2 years into her career, she accompanied students on a trip to France as a teacher chaperone. During that trip Greg met her future husband Don on the Eiffel Tower in Paris! After marriage, Greg continued teaching in Colorado, Germany, Maryland, and California with a career spanning a total of 20 years. At the height of her career, she was on the opening staff at Tesoro High School in Rancho Santa Margarita, California where she was National Honor Society Coordinator, taught Advanced Placement (AP) English, and was the English Department Chair. She retired in 2008 after enriching the lives of so many students.

In addition to teaching, Greg's greatest joys and accomplishments centered around life as a Mother and Grandmother. She was heavily involved in the Parent Teacher Association (PTA) of her daughters' schools. She stayed home to raise her girls for several years before resuming teaching later in life. Greg loved cooking and was a wonderful baker. She was kind, loving, generous, humorous, dedicated, and passionate. Most notably, she taught her daughters and grandchildren to think of others and always put themselves in another's shoes.

Greg's funeral service will take place at 11:00am on Wednesday December 28 at Mission Lutheran Church in Laguna Niguel, California. She will be laid to rest at Miramar National Cemetery in San Diego, California.
