Elbel
August 7, 1940 – December 30, 2024
Hans Elbel was born August 8, 1940, He and his twin brother Otto. Hans passed at age 84, December 30, 2024, He was in assisted living at Woodbridge Terrace Irvine, California. He had been ill for several months.
Hans was born in Bamberg, Germany and received a traditional education until age 14, He was then apprenticed to train as a pastry chef,
He also was an alter boy for his church, sang in the church choir, The choir performed for Pope Pios in Rome when he was 12, He was very proud of this. Hans was brought over to this country in 1960 when he was 20, he was brought here by the Plaza Hotel in New York, He worked there for about 3 years, He then moved to Connecticut where he married Linda and fathered four daughters.
Hans and I met in 1982 and were married in 1984, we enjoyed each others company and were happy doing the same things, we traveled to Germany many times to visit his mother.
Hans career as a pastry chef included setting up the bakery at U,C,I and at UCLA, Where he worked for 10 years until he retired.
Hans had been a Shriner and always contributed to their cause.
He was much loved by his family and myself, Barbara Anne Elbel, spouse.
