Obituary

Harriet Staten Brown, born June 25, 1944, Charleston SC, she got her wings on July 8, 2023, at Hoag hospital, Newport Beach, born to Ann and Frank Staten, she has three siblings Virginia Covington, Beatrice Staten, and Frank Staten, she fell in love and married her high school sweetheart John CV Brown (deceased). They had two children Annette Pinner and Karen Brown.

Harriet worked for AT&T for 20 years as a Facilities Administrator She was widowed in 2007. She is survived by her two daughters; Annette Pinner and Karen Brown, son-in-law; Maurice Pinner, and two grandchildren; Jahleel Pinner and Monae Pinner. Her sisters Virginia Covington, Beatrice Staten and brother Frank Staten and sister-in-law Lauretta Staten, and nieces and nephews; Eric Covington, Ayana Cymone, Jenaia Staten-Joefield and Masad Staten.

Harriet's greatest pleasure in life was spending time in the kitchen. There wasn't a recipe she couldn't recreate. Cooking for others was her love language.  At the age of 70+ she went back to school. She was working toward a law degree. She felt that age was just a number, and if there was something you wanted to do you should just do it.

Harriet will be laid to rest next to her loving husband. Services will be held at Veterans Cemetery (Riverside) on August 7, 2023 @ 11:00am.  Celebration of life reception will be held at El Torito (Laguna Hills) from 2:00 pm to 4:00pm.
