Helen Chen aka Hie Lien Chen was born June 10, 1930, West Kalimantan, Indonesia.Her father's named, Hian-Jong Chen and mother's named, Nyit-Cin Kwet.She went home with the Lord peacefully on Friday, August 7, 2020 in Saint Joseph Hospital at the age of 90 years old. She was married to her neighbor (Hok-Tjan Ng) at the age of 18 years old, in 1948.They had their first child in 1949.They were married for 30 years, before her husband passed away in 1978 at the age of 61 years old.
Helen was a trophy wife, because she was so beautiful.Her husband adored her!They end up having 11 children together.She has eleven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She was very tough, strong willed and self-discipline person.Besides being a good mother that raised 11 children. She was very skillful in tailoring, baking and cooking.She always kept our house tidy and clean.
She enjoyed cooking, baking and making her children clothing herself.She was also a professional seam-stress and uniform tailor.She helped her husband made living as a professional tailor working from home.
She enjoyed watching Chinese soap opera and going out to eat with her children, she loved spicy food.She enjoyed traveled overseas with her daughters to different country such as Netherland, Germany and Singapore.
Helen was a strong believer of Jesus Christ.She always encouraged her children to pray every day. She never fail reading the bible daily. She loved the precious moment she spent with her children.One of her son used to take her to church every Sunday and she used to enjoy singing worship songs.She was also a generous and caring person. She liked to donate to church and helped those who needed her assistance.
She was a fighter and survival.She survived many serious illnesses.She had survived breast cancer that caused her to lose her left breast. Then she also survived three strokes, before she became paralyzed and bedridden.
The funeral and burial service will be held on Tuesday, August 18, 2020 at 10:00 am at McCormick & Son Mortuary located at 25002 Moulton Pkwy., Laguna Hills, CA 92637 and the Burial will be at El Toro Memorial Park, located at: 25751 Trabucco Rd., Lake Forest, CA 92630.Helen Chen will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband.
