Wanda Helen Meilman was born on June 27, 1931, in Krakow, Poland. She immigrated with her parents at a young age to Evreux, France, where she survived the Nazi occupation during WWII. She went on to a career as a professional vocalist in the ensuing years in France. She met George Meilman, a U.S. Army officer, and married him in Paris in November 1954.
She traveled the world with George in his career. She made a wonderful home for her family in all the places they were assigned, and charmed all with her mastery of French cooking and her excellent skills as a hostess. They had three children, Sherry, Carol and Donald. Her children, who are all successful, upstanding citizens, are a tribute to her.
Wanda passed away from complications of a stroke on January 29, 1016 in Laguna Hills. She is survived by her husband, three children, her two brothers, Rudolph and Michael, and her two grandchildren, Christina and Kristopher. Wanda was loved and cherished by her family and friends. She was the love of her husband's life, always. She will be greatly missed and never forgotten by them.
Funeral services will be held on February 10, 2016, at 2:00 p.m. at Miramar National Cemetery in San Diego, CA
