IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Hermilando C.
Luminarias, Dds.
March 25, 1942 – April 12, 2024
Hermilando Castigon Luminarias born March 25th, 1942, passed away on Friday, April 12th, 2024 at Memorial Care Hospital in Laguna Hills, California. Hermilando was lovingly known as "Bok" to his spouse, Dad to his only son & papa to his only grandson and Ando or Lando with family and friends. Born to Florintino & Rufina Luminarias, Hermilando was the seventh of 8 siblings born in Talakag, Bukidnon. He graduated from University of the East College of Dentistry on 1964 and met his wife Nenotchka Teves at the same university. He migrated to New Jersey in 1968 and then returned to the Philippines to marry his wife in 1969. He worked at CPC International, a pharmaceutical company from 1968 - 1974.
In 1973, Lando & Nen's only son, Chad was born in New Jersey. By 1974 Ando moved his family to Fountain Valley, California because of a job offer from SB Penick. He continued to work for this pharmaceutical company until he passed the dental board exam in 1977. In 1978, he started his private dental practice in Fountain Valley, California until 1992, when he sold his dental practice and worked at Saddleback Dental Group in Santa Ana until he retired in 2002. He was avid in bowling, tennis but his greatest pleasure in life was playing golf. He traveled yearly to the Philippines playing at different golf courses, along with visiting Thailand to enjoy more golf tournaments. In 2005, Ando and his wife moved to North Las Vegas where he would continue to play golf and establish a life with newfound friends and family. Both him and his wife were patrons of St. John Neumann's Church in North Las Vegas.
In 2012, he was happy & excited to finally become a GRANDFATHER to his one & only grandson Logan. He would always say to Logan, that he was his number one GRANDSON. In 2019 Ando & Nen celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in the Philippines where they originally got
married.
By 2020, he began dialysis treatment where he was now limited to travel but always dreamt of continuing his travels to his homeland. On January 26th, 2024, Ando and his wife decided a make the trip to the Philippines to visit family. Fortunately, he was able to fulfill one last trip to his country which he would always say, this could be the last one.
Lando was the epitome of love, strength & generosity. He dedicated his life to providing for his family, always putting their needs above his own. Whether it was working tirelessly to ensure a roof over his family's heads or offering unwavering support and guidance, he was a pillar of strength for us all. His kindness knew no bounds, and his absence leaves an irreplaceable void in our lives. His legacy will live on through his son Chad & his grandson Logan Luminarias. We celebrate his life and will always remember him as a husband, father, grandfather, brother & friend as he touched so many peoples live.
