Obituary

Hooshang Broumand was born on October 10, 1936 in Shiraz, Iran. He was the third of seven children and it was apparent from an early age that he had a strong character and a sense of duty to those he loved. This sense of duty led him to a distinguished career as a Full Colonel in the Iranian military and his resilient character led him to marrying his childhood crush, Bahi. Hooshang would say "I knew she was the one for me from the very first time I saw her."

He and the love of his life started a family and built a wonderful life together. But circumstances led to the decision for his young family to emigrate to America and start anew. Starting over in a foreign country at the age of 43 only strengthened his resolve. He worked extremely hard to build a respectable life for himself, his wife, and his children. He instilled in his children the love for family and strong will. One by one, he encouraged and helped his siblings, nieces, and other family members to join him and Bahi in America. Their home was the first everyone knew in the new land. Hooshang was vital in everyone's life. He supported those he loved and gave strength to all.

He died on April 7, 2016 at his residence in Corona, California after a brave battle with cancer. He is survived by his beautiful and dedicated wife Bahi, his two children, Babak and Nikki, five grandsons - Blake, Brooks, John Adams, Jackson, and Jake, his siblings, the rest of his extended family and friends.
