Irv Friedman passed away on February 12, 2016. He was 87 years old. A lifelong Californian, he was born in Los Angeles on March 16, 1928, raised his family in Huntington Beach and was living in Irvine.
He was an educator above all – teaching history and social studies at high schools and colleges for 30 years. After his retirement, he directed his talents to serving the Lord. He led Bible studies at Calvary Chapel and retirement homes & was a counselor at Harvest Christian Fellowship. His lifelong love of learning and teaching led to a genuine love of people and he rejoiced in his students' successes.
He was an amazing father and his children, David and Karen, depended on his unwavering love, steadfast advice and strong ethics. He was truly a kind and gentle person who could rarely be angered.
Fishing and traveling were lifelong passions. He and his wife, Lynn, journeyed from Alaska to the Holy Land, throughout Europe and to the South Pacific.
He is lovingly remembered by Lynn, his wife of 56 years; his sister, Betty Gostin; and his children, David Friedman and Karen Polster.
