Jack Whitney Klein, 69, died peacefully at home on December 17, 2017, after a valiant battle with cancer.His devotion to his family and his firm belief in God supported him in his struggle and ultimately gave him peace.He was a chemical engineer who worked at the Fluor Corporation on commercial energy plants most of his professional career; most recently, he was a Project Executive at ARB, Inc. and Senior Vice President at Brinderson Engineers & Constructors. He received a bachelor degree in chemical engineering from the University of Pennsylvania and a graduate degree in business finance from the University of California at Berkeley.
He was born on October 8, 1948 in Kansas City, MO to George Frank Klein, Sr. and Anna Louise (Zimmerman) Klein and grew up in Gladwyne, PA outside of Philadelphia.While at university he was a top athlete in lacrosse and was a member of the Phi Kappa Psi fraternity.He is survived by his wife, Linda Lee Klein, Laguna Beach, CA; son, Michael Whitney Klein, his wife Kate, and grandson, Watson Michael Klein, Redondo Beach, CA; daughter, Christina Klein, San Antonio, TX; step-daughters, Stacy Pendleton and Rochelle Pendleton, Laguna Beach, CA; sister, Deborah Klein Walker, Cambridge, MA; and brother Stephen David Klein, Ponte Vedra Beach, FL.
