Obituary

James Delmer Bryant, born February 18, 1934 , Flintville, Tennessee, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, on Wednesday, June 6, 2018 at his home in Trabuco Canyon, California. James was surrounded by his wife Betty Jo of 61 ½ years, daughters Lourinda Clark, Meredith Vaughan, son-in-laws Keith Clark, Stephen Vaughan and sister Geneva F Pamfilie. Born to Jessie & Battie Bryant, he had two siblings Charles Bryant, (Passed 1933) and Geneva F. Pamfilie of Margate, Florida. James and Betty Jo were married November 3, 1956.Shortly after they were married, James was drafted into the United States Army from 1956 -1958.After he served his term of duty, he and Betty Jomoved to Anaheim California to begin a new career in computers.Lourinda was born in 1960 and Meredith followed in 1961.

He graduated in 1952 from Akron Central High School, Akron Ohio. His first job was a paper boy for theAkron Beacon Journal. After marriage, He worked at Rockwell for 37 yearsas a Systems Programer. He earned his BA in Business Administration fromCalifornia State University of Fullerton. He graduated from college in 1975, the same year as Meredith graduated from Junior High School.

One of hisgreatest joy's was family. He was involved with his children and grandchildren's activities and projects and was always reaching home to support his mother, sister, nieces and nephews many miles away. He would encourage them to search their hearts, determine their options and then follow their dreams. He would go to sporting events with his pop up chair, white polo shirt and sunglasses always wanting to be on the sidelines to watch his grandchildren play their favorite sports. Jim would often find special mornings to take out his daughters and enjoy breakfast with them before they began their day.

Jim donated his computer talents to his church, Foothills Church RSM, by volunteering as the financial secretary for many years. He continued to service the church as head usher until his health required him to step down. You could find him there Sunday mornings with a smile on his face and a bulletin to hand out and a friendly greeting.

James enjoyed traveling the world with his wife and enjoying lots of ice cream and popcorn.

The Celebration of his life will be held Saturday, June 16, 2018, 2:00 p.m. at the Clark family residence in Dove Canyon. We wish the family and friends continued joy and happiness as they remember his legacy.
