James was born in Sagamore, PA, on February 3, 1945 and passed away unexpectedly at the age of 71 in Laguna Woods, California on February 23,2016. He is survived by his wife Deborah, daughter Patricia and son in law James Mendoza, and beloved grandson Roman of Aliso Viejo, CA. His Father George, Mother Virginia, and brother John precede him in death.
Born in Sagamore to George and Virginia Fulton, he lived in Pennsylvania and also in Niagara Falls, New York while growing up. James joined the United States Navy, and served on the USS Yorktown aircraft carrier during the Vietnam War. It was in the Navy that he was given the nickname "Tee Bird" that would stick with him forever. After an honorable discharge, he took up residence in California. He met and married his wife, Debbie Dogero. They settled in Pomona, California and had their only child, a daughter Patricia.
James worked for many years for Las Plumas Lumber Company in Riverside, CA before retiring. He also enjoyed being an active Police Volunteer for the Rialto Police Department back in the 1990's and enjoyed patrolling the streets with his partner Bob.
James was a huge Elvis Presley fan, and collected records all over the world during his Navy travels. He was a fan of all sports, and especially enjoyed watching baseball and football games. He was an avid Nascar fan, and looked forward to watching every race and rooting for Jeff Gordon and Jimmy Johnson. James had a very witty sense of humor, and always had a knack for coming up with funny sayings. He loved animals, and especially his fur son "Samuel" a Maltese dog. Over the years he took excellent care of all his beloved dogs. He even cared for the stray dogs and cats that would frequent the lumberyard and diligently gave them food and water. James was gentle, kind, and full of love and compassion. James will be greatly missed by his family, until we are reunited again with our Lord in Heaven. We love you Dad.
