Obituary
James Nathan (Nate) Jensen of Newport Beach California age 48 passed away late Monday night December 13, 2021 as a result of a car accident in Long Beach California.
Nate was born November 21, 1973 in Ogden, Utah to Kathleen Low Jensen and James Bennion Jensen.
He was active in sports and particularly excelled in snow skiing and water skiing.Nate loved going with his family to Alta, Park City, Snowbasin and Lake Powell.
Nathan graduated from Bonneville High School and received a degree in history and a JD from Brigham Young University.
He served two years as a full-time missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in the Pennsylvania Pittsburg Mission and it was there that the wife of Nate's mission president called his attention to Sister Pamela Hawkins as she left the mission field, suggesting he might look her up once he got home.Nate followed advice, and he and Pamela were soon married and sealed for time and all eternity in the Bountiful Utah Temple on December 28, 1995.
With all the complexities of life, Nate always distilled it down to the same thing:faith in God and devotion to his beloved wife and children.
In 2000 Nathan began his law career with a law firm in San Francisco, California later transferring to San Diego working on corporate mergers and venture capital projects.One of his clients was Clean Energy in Newport Beach and in 2011 Nate went to work there as corporate legal counsel.Over the past several years he accepted major responsibilities to develop business in renewable energy.One month ago, Nate was recognized as outstanding general counsel of a public company by the Orange County Business Journal.
Nate is survived by his wife, Pamela and their children Sam, Abbie, Zach and Eliza, and his parents Jim and Kathy and siblings Jacob and his wife Jenny, and Jaime Malan and her husband John.
Funeral services will be held Saturday December 18, 2021 11:00 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Newport Beach Stake Center 2150 Bonita Canyon Drive Newport Beach California.
