Obituary

Jean W Badraun was born Julia Jean Working on December 16, 1923 and passed away March 3, 2017 at the age of 93 in Laguna Woods, California.She is survived by her son Mark, daughter-in-law Tricia, grandchildren Taylor Badraun and Emily Badraun Heiden, and her husband Richard.

Jean was born in El Paso, Texas to her parents Carroll and Julia Working.She was an only child.Jean's family moved to Los Angeles where her entrepreneurial father was involved in various businesses including managing a world champion lightweight prize fighter.She was always a good student attaining a degree in Public Administration from USC with Phi Beta Kappa and Cum Laude honors.

Jean married Warren W. Badraun on April 14, 1953.Jean and Warren raised three children Wade, Mark and Julie in Riverside, California.An avid golfer, as was Warren, Jean managed two holes-in-one during her many rounds on the links at the Victoria Club.She and Warren moved to Lake Almanor, California for several years, then back to Dana Point, California.Later, she moved to Laguna Woods, California where she spent her last ten years.

Jean had many passions related to wildlife conservation and American Indian causes which she supported financially.Generally reserved and respectful, she was known to offer unvarnished opinions when pressed by close family members or good friends.She was an avid reader and sports fan.Jean traveled extensively later in life and enjoyed researching facts related to her planned travel destinations.She studied and played bridge near her final home in Laguna Woods after Warren's passing.

She was very proud of her grandchildren and provided financial support for Emily's college education at UCSB as well as a generous gift to Taylor upon his graduation from the University of Arizona.

Jean wanted her remains to be interred next to her Warren's final resting place in Aylett, Virginia.
