IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Jean Marie
Gregg
August 29, 1936 – May 11, 2025
Jean Marie Gregg, age 89, passed away peacefully surrounded by family. She leaves behind a legacy of love and unwavering devotion to her family, faith, and community.
Jean was born in Cleveland, Ohio, where she shared an inseparable bond with her identical twin sister, Joan. The two were as close as sisters could be, a bond that only gently shifted when they each married and began families of their own.
Jean met the love of her life, Richard, during Junior High in Cleveland, Ohio, 1948. A lifelong partnership built on respect, laughter, and strength. Through every chapter—from cross-country moves to raising a family—they stood side by side. They would have celebrated 67 years of marriage on May 31.
In 1963, Jean and her young family moved to California, where she began working in food service at St. Pius School, nourishing not just students' bodies but also their hearts with her kindness and care.
In 1976, the family of 5 moved to Lake Forest. There, she worked as an office manager of the insurance business she shared with Richard.
The Greggs retired in 1999, and in this well-earned time, she poured herself into what she loved most: her children, five grandchildren, travel adventures with Richard, and her deepening faith. She became a dedicated and joyful part of the team that helped build Santiago Church, a place that meant so much to her and her family.
She embodied the heart and soul of a devoted homemaker. Always gracious, selfless, patient and full of wisdom. To her grandchildren, she was the heart of every holiday, the source of comforting words, and the keeper of family traditions that will live on through generations.
Jean's life was marked by love: the love she gave, the love she shared, and the love that will continue to ripple outward from everyone who had the honor of knowing her.
She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
Jean is survived by her beloved husband, Richard Gregg, their 3 children, 8 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren.
If anyone would like to donate in Jean's name to South Coast Outreach. A foundation that was close to her heart.
