On Tuesday, January 3, 2023, Jeanne Carol Farnes, daughter of Cecil and Ruth Courter, and loving matriarch of the Farnes family, passed away peacefully in her home at age ninety-two. An avid reader, Jeanne earned a bachelor's degree in English from San Diego State College and a teaching credential from Chapman University. She spent twenty-two successful years as an elementary school teacher. Together with her fellow educator and beloved husband of sixty-four years, Quinn Farnes Sr., she built a beautiful life in Laguna Beach, CA. Jeanne was predeceased by her husband Quinn, daughter Sharman, and son Quinn Jr. She was extremely devoted to and proud of her family, especially her grandchildren.

Ever the "hostess with the mostest," Jeanne sparkled with hospitality and class. A product of the Dust Bowl, she endured life's trials with strength, resilience, and faith. In addition to being a devoted wife, mother, and teacher, Jeanne had many special talents. She was a gifted artist and craftswoman, who could often be found with a paintbrush in hand, behind the lens of a camera, or at the seat of her sewing machine. She even started her own business called Joy from Jeanne, selling handmade collectibles. Everything she planted in her garden sprung to life, and when she was not bent over a flower bed, she was sailing the high seas in her boat Callisto . Her blithe spirit led her on many travels over the years, including cruises, time spent overseas, and cherished family trips in the RV. She will be dearly missed.
