IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Jeremiah
Shea
December 19, 1938 – April 29, 2024
Jeremiah Shea, born December 19, 1938, The Bronx NY, passed away on April 29, 2024, in Mission Viejo CA. Born to Margaret and Jeremiah Shea, he has three siblings Jackie, Margie, and Terence (passed). He grew up in The Bronx in New York and there he graduated from Machine and Metal Trades High School. He enlisted in the US Marine Corps on July 24, 1956. He was very proud to be honorably discharged as a Reconnaissance Marine in Stone Bay, NC.
After serving, Jeremiah met Eva Birgitta whom he was lucky to marry on October 10, 1964, in The Bronx. Together they have two children, Thomas and Susan. He also became a legend in the packaging industry. His favorite part of the job was training new salespeople at his distributors and especially teaching them how to cold call, which he was an expert at.
Jeremiah loved his family and was a loving husband and father with a great sense of humor. He also enjoyed traveling with Eva. The two special trips were when he surprised Eva with a 40th birthday trip to Sweden. Taking her to where she was born to reconnect with family she had not seen since she was five years old. He also took her on a trip to Ireland with their good friends. While there he said he felt like he had come home. It was well known that he considered St. Patrick's Day his personal holiday.
He also enjoyed coaching both Tommy's and Susan's soccer teams. Sometimes both teams in one season too. Although he was not able to go to college, he was so proud to watch Thomas graduate from UC Santa Cruz and Susan from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. When he was able, Jeremiah loved sailing from Newport to Dana Point off the California coast. However, the highlight was spending weekends anchored off of Catalina Island. He was very glad to have had the opportunity to sail in the annual Newport to Ensenada Race.
Jeremiah is survived by his wife, Eva Shea, his children Thomas and Susan (spouse Jeffrey Redeker). He is preceded in death by his parents Jeremiah and Margaret and his brother Terence.
