I am here before you today saying the words I have never wanted to say, giving the speech; I have never wanted to give, feeling the loss I have never wanted to feel.
Jesus L. Toscano was born to Leandro Toscano y Petra Lozano on May 8, 1935 in Guadalajara and called to Heaven on Sunday, November 8, 2020 (a week ago today) at 85 years young.
Jesus was lovingly known as Apa, Carnal, Tio Chuy, Nino, Abuelo, Toscano y Doñ Chuy.
Our Apa had an extremely difficult childhood. He took on the role of the "man of the house" when he was only 15 years old when his father was murdered.He often times reflected when he saw a chamaco around that age "look how innocent they are-at that age I already had the responsibility of ensuring that my mom and 5 siblings-- had food on the table and a roof over their heads."
He decided that he would come to the United States to provide a better life for all of them. He landed his first job at a farm- working in the fields picking fruit. He spent his first night alone, in this empty farm, underneath the moonlight, this was Christmas Day 1951.
In 1962, our Apa and his mejor amigo, Tio Suarez, got hired at El Niguel Country Club where he worked for 38 years until he retired in 2000.
He was a God fearing man- he was member of San Felipe de Jesus for 40 plus years, a member of the Caballeros de Colon and Cenaculo Misionero
He was a hardworking man we never went without
He was selfless he always put the needs of others before his
He was wise people sought him out for guidance
He was loveable to have known him is to have loved him
He was charismatic he made friends (of all ages) wherever he went
He was loyal to all- friends and familia alike
He was a prankster- most of you in this room were a victims (you know what I am talking about)
Mi Apa was not just my father, he was my friend, my first true love, the light of life, My HERO
For Carlos, our APA, never turned his back on him even in the lowest moments of his life- he helped him pick up the pieces and got him back on track
Jesus lost his viejita and life partner of 44 years in 2018. He is survived by hijo- Juan Carlos "Mono", hija-Laura, yerno-Joaquin, hermanos- Lupe y Jose, cuñadas, primos y primas, sobrinas y sobrinos, his otra hijas Monica and Rosie, amigos and Jimmy his little companion canary.
We miss you tremendously, but part of you still lives on in all of us, in our memories and our hearts.
Lastly, we would like to express our sincere gratitude to all of you here tonight (familia, friends) for coming tonight to celebrate our, APA, Jesus L. Toscano amazing life.
We are sorry DUE to COVID- we will not be having a gathering after the burial.

Jesús L. Toscano nació de Leandro Toscano y Petra Lozano el 8 de mayo de 1935 en Guadalajara y fue llamado al cielo el domingo 8 de noviembre de 2020 (hoy hace una semana) a los 85 años de edad.
A Jesús se le conocía amorosamente como Apa, Carnal, Tio Chuy, Nino, Abuelo, Toscano y Doñ Chuy.
Doñ Chuy tuvo una infancia extremadamente difícil. Asumió el papel del "hombre de la casa" cuando solo tenía 15 años cuando su padre fue asesinado. A menudo reflexionaba cuando veía a un chamaco de esa edad "mira lo inocentes que son, a esa edad yo ya tenía la responsabilidad de asegurarme de que mi mamá y 5 hermanos tuvieran comida en la mesa y un techo sobre la cabeza".
Decidió venirse a los Estados Unidos para brindarles una vida mejor a todos ellos. Consiguió su primer trabajo en una granja, trabajando en el campo recogiendo fruta. Pasó su primera noche solo, en esta finca, bajo la luz de la luna, este fue el día de Navidad de 1951.
En 1962, Doñ Chuy y su mejor amigo Tio Suarez fueron contratados en El Niguel Country Club donde trabajó durante 38 años hasta que se jubiló en 2000.
Era un hombre devoto a de Dios: fue miembro de San Felipe de Jesús durante más de 40 años, miembro de los Caballeros de Colón y el Cenáculo Misionero.
Era un hombre trabajador
Era sabio, la gente lo buscaba en busca de guía.
Era adorable haberlo conocido es haberlo amado
Era carismático, hacía amigos (de todas las edades) dondequiera que fuera
Era leal a todos, amigos y familiares por igual.
Era un bromista, la mayoría de ustedes en esta sala fueron víctimas (ya saben de lo que estoy hablando)
Doñ Chuy no era solo padre de Laura, era su amigo, su primer amor verdadero, la luz de su vida, su HÉROE
Para Carlos, Doñ Chuy, nunca le dio la espalda, incluso en los momentos más bajos de su vida, lo ayudó a recoger los pedazos y lo volvió a encaminar.
Doñ Chuy perdió a su viejita su pareja de vida de 44 años en 2018. Sobrevivido por su hijo- Juan Carlos "Mono", hija-Laura, yerno-Joaquin, hermanos- Lupe y Jose, cuñadas, primos y primas, sobrinas y sobrinos, su otra hijas Mónica y Rosie, amigos y" Jimmy" su pequeño compañero canario cantante.
Lo extrañamos muchísimo, pero una parte de ti aún vive en todos nosotros, en nuestros recuerdos y en nuestros corazones.
Por último, nos gustaría expresar nuestro más sincero agradecimiento a todos ustedes aquí esta noche (familiares, amigos) por venir hoy a celebrar la increíble vida, de Doñ Chuy, Jesús L Toscano.
Lo sentimos DEBIDO a COVID: no habrá una reunión después del entierro.
