Joan Christine Gerlach (Stieber) passed away March 30, 2024 at age 83, in San Juan Capistrano, California.

She was born August 14, 1940 in Los Angeles, California.  She is preceded in death by her loving parents,  Joseph A. Stieber and Mildred C. Stieber and her brother John "Jack" Stieber.

Joan grew up in Gardena, California and remained there until 1977, when she moved her family to Garden Grove, California.  She then moved to San Juan Capistrano in 2017 where she remained until her passing.  She was a graduate of El Camino College in Torrance, California.

Joan had a very active mind and loved brain games, board games and all kinds of puzzles as well as being an avid reader.  But her very favorite thing to do was to be with her family.

She was always actively involved in her church- from teaching classes to being a Lector at Mass every Sunday.  Her faith was her strongest quality and was woven into her entire existence.

She is survived by her four children, Tony, Bill (Angie), Francie (Todd), and Tom (Shannon)- her eight grandchildren, Nick, Ben (Mandie), Stephen, Paul, Ash, James, Katie and Brie- her nephew John(Gamze) Stieber and niece Joy(Bob) Getz- and by her soon-to-be first great grandchild Grace.
