Joanne Maria Borchert, was born on November 2, 1966 in Los Angeles and fell asleep in the Lord on Sunday, February 18, 2018 in Anaheim. The daughter of Walter and Barbara Tak, Joanne met her husband Stephen at St. Paul's Greek Orthodox Church and they were married there in 2000.

She is survived by her son Charlie, her brother Edward, her mother Barbara, and her husband Stephen.

Joanne was a preschool teacher for 27 years. Her greatest pleasure in life was giving to others and she remembered everyone's birthdays, including former children whom she taught in preschool who now have children of their own.She enjoyed knitting for her friends and co-workers, making baby blankets for their infant children, taking photos with her camera and then putting inspirational posts on Facebook.

She cared for others more than herself and was always there when you needed her.

Joanne served on the welcome committee at St. Paul's, greeting parishioners and visitors as they arrived and making coffee every Sunday for Coffee Hour.

Funeral arrangements are as follows:
Monday, February 26, 2018The Trisagion Service:7 pm at St. Paul's
Tuesday, February 27, 2018 The Funeral Service: 11 am at St. Paul's.
The Trisagion Service and burial will immediately follow the Funeral Service at:
El Toro Memorial Park,25751 Trabuco Road, Lake Forest, CA 92630
There will be a Makaria (Meal of Blessing) at St. Paul's following the Trisagion and burial.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to St. Paul's Greek Orthodox Church.
May the Lord Jesus grant her a place among the righteous in His Kingdom!
