IN LOVING MEMORY OF
John Patrick
Davidson
December 10, 1941 – January 8, 2023
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of John Davidson, a beloved father, husband, grandfather, and friend. John was born on December 10, 1941, in Aberdeen, South Dakota to Sidney Davidson and Marion Davidson (née Ford). John passed away peacefully on January 8, 2023, surrounded by his loving family.
John was a man who lived his life with integrity, kindness, and a contagious sense of humor. He was always willing to go the extra mile to help anyone in need and his friends could always count on him to lend a helping hand. He was devoted to his wife, Martha, and was a loving and proud father to his three sons: Michael, Jonathan, and Christopher. He was the proud grandfather of Desiree, Cody, Jessica, Demi, and Enrico. He was always there to offer support and guidance, and his presence will be deeply missed by his family and loved ones.
John was a true survivor and an inspiration to many. He moved from South Dakota in 1952 and arrived in California in 1953 with nothing but a dream and a determination to succeed. Despite the many challenges he faced, he worked hard his whole life to build a fantastic life for him and his family. He was a testament to the American Dream, and his legacy will live on as a reminder of what is possible through hard work, determination, and a belief in oneself.
John was a true renaissance man, known for his boundless curiosity and quick mind. He was always looking for a new challenge and was always eager to learn something new. He was incredibly skilled at fixing things and solving problems, with a talent for finding innovative solutions where others saw only obstacles. There wasn't anything that a little duct tape or JB weld couldn't solve! If there was a problem, he knew how to solve it. He was a man of action who believed in taking the initiative and always trying to make a positive difference in the world.
John had a passion for many things, but his favorite hobby was golf. He loved spending his days on the course, perfecting his swing, and enjoying the day with his friends or family. He always loved to take a few extra free mulligans, with a smile on his face and a chuckle in his voice. He was also a man of wanderlust, traveling to many different parts of the world, but some of his most treasured memories were of the trips he took with his family to Europe, Mexico, and Hawaii.
John was also an avid lover of cars and motorcycles. He loved working on and tuning up his cars and drag racing his motorcycles at the old Lions Drag Strip. He had a particular affection for his old Ferrari and Porsche, which he had saved up for many years to purchase. He also loved the freedom of the open road and made the pilgrimage to the biker mecca of Sturgis on his motorcycle to enjoy the rally and thrill of the ride several times. However, John was a family man at heart and was willing to make sacrifices for his family, he sold his beloved cars and motorcycle to buy a house for his family.
Family was everything to John, and he loved nothing more than spending time with his loved ones. He was always happiest when he was surrounded by his family. He cherished these moments and they will be forever etched in the memories of his loved ones.
John's kind and compassionate nature touched the lives of all who knew him. He was the type of person who always put others first, never hesitating to lend a helping hand or a listening ear.
John's memory will live on through the countless people he has touched during his lifetime. He will be greatly missed by everyone that knew him. He leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, a love for life, problem-solving skills, and a love for adventure and freedom. May he rest in peace, and may his memory be forever cherished.
