Art Johnson is survived by his wife Viola, to whom he was married for over sixty-eight years, his two sons Stephen and Michael, ten grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.

Art Johnson's father was a pastor and so his life was centered around the church. His family was very musical and he was as well. He was also athletic and very successful in multiple varsity sports in high school.After graduating, he was drafted into the army during World War II and served honorably for our country in Europe.

After the war, he met and married Viola Ruth Soule on September 10, 1948. They built a small house in Pasadena and he began his career with the Southern California Gas Company. He started as a serviceman and retired as Vice President of Human Resources. His job took him along with his family to live in El Centro, Inglewood, Long Beach, and Downey California. He served in many civic organizations and lived out his faith both in the church and in his community.

Art, Dad, Grandpa Johnson leaves a legacy of faith. His greatest passion was for friends, family and anyone he came in contact with to enter into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. This was most important to him (John 3:16, 10:10).

John "Art" Johnson's memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 25,2017 at 10:30 a.m. at Grace Hills Church located at 24521 Moulton Parkway, Aliso Viejo with a reception following. The phone number of the church is 949-837-2435.
