John’s journey through life was characterized by a steadfast devotion to family and an admirable career. He enjoyed a lifelong tenure at Belden Wire and Cable, where his innate talents as a salesman propelled him to management. Under his leadership, his region consistently achieved the highest sales and numerous accolades, which he embraced with quiet pride. Such accomplishments reflected his unwavering dedication to integrity and excellence.

Educated at Colorado A&M University in Fort Collins, John was proud to be a member of the Phi Delta Theta fraternity. The friendships he forged during these formative years were enduring and played a significant role in his life. John was a man who cultivated connections, always keeping friends close and ensuring they were not forgotten—a testament to his generous spirit.

Throughout his life, John immersed himself in various hobbies and interests. From playing golf and fishing to hiking the great outdoors, he embraced a life filled with adventure. Family vacations spent at the beach and on houseboats created lasting memories, as did heartfelt days spent camping and engaging in Little League baseball. His love for travel often intertwined with joyous moments spent with his pet dogs, rounding out a life rich in experiences and shared laughter.

John’s legacy is profound and extends beyond personal connections to encompass his compassionate work in service to others. He took great pride in the establishment of the Marklund organization, named for his firstborn child. This remarkable institution continues to provide vital support and care for infants, children, teens, and adults facing severe developmental challenges.

As a devoted family man, John raised his sons, Jim and Chris, instilling in them the values of character, integrity, and responsibility. He leaves behind his sons, Jim and Chris; and their families, which include his cherished grandchildren Brittney, Amber, Elliott, Nicolle, Eric, Tanya, Nathan, and Mark; and great-grandchildren Emma, Eli, Rilee, Gray, and Eris. They carry forth his legacy, inspired by his caring nature and vibrant spirit.

John is predeceased by his beloved wife, Pat; his son, Mark; his father, Burt; his mother, Doris; and his brother, Tony. Their memories live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

In all, John Richard Lund lived a full and rich life, leaving behind a tapestry of love, laughter, and lasting impact that will continue to resonate with his family and community for generations to come.
