John Douglas McDonald , born July 9, 1959, passed away on Sunday, October 19, 2025 after a long illness. He is beloved and survived by his wife, Cindy after 39 years of marriage. They have two Sons, James and Jordan McDonald along with their wives, Chelsea and Riley. John leaves behind four grandchildren: Layla, Jackson, Jameson, and Raine. John is also survived by his Mother, Lucy Case, and his sister, Karen McDonald.

John worked as a commercial construction contractor, successfully operating his own company for all his adult years. He graduated from San Clemente High School, purchased a home in San Clemente, and raised his sons in the community. John was a responsible and loyal provider to his family and deeply cared for those in his employment and business relationships.

John's passion for Golf was enjoyed throughout his life where he continued to practice and play regularly, gaining a deep knowledge of the sport and its history. He was respected for his acquired skills and dedication to the game.

John loved life. Known for his quick wit and presence of mind in his delivery of humor, provided an instant bond between friends and those who came into his life. John was the pillar of his family showing great strength and courage in how he conducted his life, especially in battling with his health concerns. He will be deeply missed and forever loved. Rest in Peace.

Memorial Services will be held, Saturday, January 10th, 2026, 11:00am at St Andrews by-the-sea. 2001 Calle Frontera, San Clemente, CA 92673, followed by a reception in the Church fellowship hall.
