John Kenneth Radio was an amazing son, brother, husband, uncle, cousin, nephew, grandson, son-in-law, and brother in law. He was born June 10 th , 1963 in Fullerton CA, and passed away in the early morning of Friday, July 8 th , 2022 in Laguna Hills. John courageously battled cancer for just over three years.
Born to John (Jack) and Judith (Judy) Radio, he had a sister, Joni Radio Gaynor. John married the love of his life Brenda, on September 17 th , 1994, in his parent's home in Laguna Hills. Together, they were happy through the good times and the bad, and through sickness and health.
John lived in Orange County, CA all his life, namely Buena Park and El Toro/Laguna Hills. He participated in the Boy Scouts and Little League in Buena Park, CA and graduated from Laguna Hills High School, where he played basketball. He had a passion for sports and was an avid Laker, Dodger and Raiders fan. John had a passion for music, especially rock and roll, and the history behind the songs and artists. He also was a sports and memorabilia collector, and he and Brenda had an E-bay business where they sold some of their rare finds.
John enjoyed nature and this stemmed from the many camping trips he took with his family during his childhood. He and Brenda loved the beach, seeing waterfalls, and especially their trip to the Grand Canyon. He also loved animals and through the years he had several pets, including dogs, birds, iguanas, fish and turtles.
John and Brenda met at work where he worked in Accounts Payable at Builders Emporium. Through the years John also worked at Warehouse Records, Crazy Shirts, and Sargent Leisure Clothing. Most recently John was employed at Phelps as a Senior Technology Analyst, who very supportive of John throughout his cancer battle.
John has two nephews, Alex and Grant Gaynor who he loved so much. When they were little John loved to be on the floor playing with them. As they grew up he always wanted to know how they were doing in school and in their sports. Although John was a Dodger fan, he knew Alex and Grant loved the Angels and he was always on the hunt for some Angel memorabilia for them.
John adored Brenda's family. He has two nieces, Jamie and Danielle Ross, both of who shared the same passion of music. He also has nephews Nickolas, Chandler, and Kristopher Koontz.
Services will be held Monday, July 18 th , 2022 at 11:00 AM with a reception immediately after at McCormick and Sons Mortuary 25002 Moulton Parkway, Laguna Hills, CA.
In lieu of flowers, the family has set up a website to donate to the Leonard Cancer Institute that provided stellar care to John with hope to finding advanced treatments or a cure for cancer. You may donate here if you'd like:
