Joseph Pasco Famalette

June 22, 1948-September 10, 2015

ALISO VIEJO-Born in Hazelton, Pennsylvania in 1948, Joseph graduated from Hazelton High School is 1966. He attended King's College where he received his bachelor's degree in Political Science and was a nationally ranked debater. Following King's College, he also attended Emory Law School as well as Northwestern Business School.

He began his storied career at Pepperidge Farms where he quickly advanced. Positions with Welches and Multi-Foods soon followed. He became President and Chief Executive Officer at American Crystal Sugar in Fargo, North Dakota in 1991, where he was hailed as a visionary for challenging the status quo and endearingly referred to as "Hurricane Joe". Following American Crystal Sugar, he was appointed Chief Executive Officer of S&W Foods. He retired in 1998, where he enjoyed spending time with his family and golfing.

Joseph has been described as "larger than life". He had a zeal for life and was famous for having "just one comment". Those that knew him loved him for his sense of humor and genuine nature. He had a passion for learning, debate, politics and above all his family, friends and his faithful dog, Yogi.

Surviving Joseph is his wife of 25 years, Dwynn, and his two children, Ashley and Joseph Jr. and their dog, Yogi. He is also survived by his sister, Martha Mulligan and brother, James Famalette. His father, Pat Famalette and mother, Carmella Famalette, preceded him in his death.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 4:00pm on Tuesday, September 15th at the Laguna Hills Community Center, 25555 Alicia Parkway, Laguna Hills, CA 92653.
