Judith Joyce Chodil aka Judy Chodil, died at the age of 79 on Monday December 7th at 11am. Judy passed away at her home in Irvine, California
from Colon Cancer.
Judy was born June 22nd, 1941 in Chicago, Illinois to Walter and Helen Chodil, and She had two younger sisters Arleen and Carole.
Judy was married to Joe, her devoted husband of 39 years.
Judy has been teaching Graduate School since 1985. Before that she held faculty positions at the University of Illinois, New York University, Hunter college, Clemson University and USC. Judy got her BSN from the University of Illinois and her Masters and Ph.D both in nursing from New York University. Judy did a post doctoral fellowship at the University of Arizona where she focused on Clinical instrumentation and studied chronic pain. Judy's primary interest and focus was among adults with arthritis and cancer.
Judy's loves were traveling the country and outside of the country and spending time with her husband, Joe, and her daughter, Caroline. She spent much of her time being involved in her daughter's school.
Judy had 2 beautiful grandchildren by the names of Sophia Elizabeth and Norah Judith named after Judy. They loved their Grandma Judy so very much. She also loved very much her brother in law, Rich Runk. Always thinking of his as her brother and appreciating art and architecture with him.
