Judith (Hess) Greenhalgh-Feldherr, loving wife of Raymond Feldherr, of Laguna Woods,
California, passed away peacefully in her home Monday, May 3, 2021. Born October 5, 1939, in
Reading, Pennsylvania, Judy was the daughter of the Honorable Warren K. Hess and Mary
(Guenther) Hess.
Judy attended Smith College, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education and married her high-school sweetheart William H. Greenhalgh upon graduation. She first taught elementary school in Reading, Pennsylvania, and then continued as a substitute teacher and a remedial reading teacher in Upper Saddle River, New Jersey, while raising her family.
She will forever be remembered for her incredible kindness to everyone and her giving heart. She was generous with her time and offered help to anyone in need and she always had a kind word to share. She loved her family fiercely and her greatest joy was time spent with them.
Besides her husband, Judy is survived by her children, Meg (John) Casalaspi of Corona del
Mar, CA; Sarah (John) DeCaprio of East Haven, CT; and Diane Feldherr Bailey of Prescott, AZ, as well as her adoring grandchildren Carly (Dan) Thigpen, Christopher (Grace) Casalaspi, Michael and Matthew DeCaprio, and three great-grandchildren. Besides her parents, Judy is predeceased by her first husband, William Greenhalgh.
A memorial service will be held on July 1, 2021 at 11am at McCormick and Son.
