Juliana Lim Tiglao passed away peacefully on December28, 2018.She was preceded in death by her husband, Dioscoro and son Romeo Tiglao.Mrs. Juliana Tiglao was born in Mabalacat, Pampanga, Philippines on February 16, 1919.She was the oldest of the 10 children of Felisa Lim and Juan Canlas.Mrs. Juliana Tiglao aka Juaning, aka Julie aka Apo (Lola) is survived by her loving children, son Lito Tiglao and daughter Annabelle Tiglao Medina.She is also survived by her grandchildren Lishar Sladek, Todd and Bryan Tiglao, Elmer Tiglao, Joy Tiglao Buhlmann, Sally Tiglao Villanueva, Raul, Alex and Omar Tiglao, Nicolas and Michael Medina, Lucilla, Nancy and Randy Tiglao.She is also survived by her sisters Arsenia, Antonina, Carmelita Canlas and brother Romerico Canlas.Mrs. Juliana Tiglao did not graduate grade school but has the talent and intelligence of a college graduate. Juaning at her early teen years opened a snack store selling halo-halo to earn money to help the parents.At about the same time she started to learn sewing, she became proficient in dressmaker.This vocation carried her through most of her adult life.She opened a dress shop with 5 seamstress.She was able to do business with the U.S. Military personnel wives assigned in Clark Air Force Base in the Philippines.Aside from women dresses she was also doing drapes, curtains and cushion seat covers and anything related to cloth material.
Mrs. Juliana Tiglao was determined to send her children to school through College.She knew the value of education.She helped also some of the grandchildren school expenses.Juliana was a believer of savings for the future. In 1976 Juliana immigrated to the United States.She started babysitting for the neighbors, then switched to caregiving services to the older people in Leisure World.
Mrs. Juliana Tiglao loved to travel, she was able to visit England, Switzerland, Germany and Italy.She was also in Israel, Jerusalem and several towns of the Holy land.Juliana was also a very independent business minded person.After 4 years in the U.S. she was able to purchase a Condo in Laguna Hills, California.In 1991 she was able to move to her dream home in Leisure World which is now Laguna Woods Village.Julie Tiglao enjoyed living in Laguna Woods very much.
A public viewing will be held at McCormick & Sons Mortuary on January 11, 2019at 5:30.Mass service will be at St. Nicholas Catholic Church on Jan. 12, 2019 at 9:00 am?Funeral at Ascension Cemetery in Lake Forest after the mass.
