Kathleen Ann Hoyt passed away on October 7, 2015 in Lake Forest, California. She is survived by her husband, Darryl; her children Jeff, Jennifer, and Alison; her grandchildren, Peter and Elizabeth; and her siblings, JoAnna and Anthony.

Kathy was born on July 17, 1946 in Los Angeles to her parents, Joseph and Josephine Borello. In 1964, she graduated from high school at Mission San Gabriel, and remained active on their reunion committee for many years. In 1967, she married Darryl Hoyt, a co-worker at Stationers Corporation in downtown LA. Together they lived for several years in Klamath Falls, Oregon where they made many lifelong friends. A California girl at heart, she and her family returned to Southern California in 1983, where she happily remained until her death.

She made fast friends of strangers with her vivacious personality and sparkling eyes. An honest and outspoken person, she was the mom that neighbor kids feared crossing...until they were warmly welcomed over for dinner. Kathy was a voracious reader and loved a good mystery, as well as traveling and a hearty cup of coffee. She was a fabulous cook and an always generous hostess; nothing made her happier than serving traditional Italian food and being surrounded by her friends and family.

A Memorial mass will be held at Corpus Christi Church in Aliso Viejo, CA on October 13, 2015 at 11am. A celebration of her life and reception will immediately follow at Prothero Mobile Estates community center, 24701 Raymond Way, Lake Forest, CA 92630.
