Kenneth Martin Hodson was born September 14th, 1937 and passed away on December 11th, 2015 at the age of 78 in Mission Viejo, CA due to Parkinson's disease. He is survived by his six grandchildren: Joshua, Justin and Mariah Millheim and Spencer, Tiana and Serena Hodson; as well as his two children Nicole Millheim (husband David) of Farmington, UT and Scott Hodson (wife Tiffany) of Trabuco Canyon, CA.
Ken was born in Ogden, UT to his parents Wayne and Joyce Hodson. He was raised primarily by his grandmother in Montebello, CA where he met his wife Jacqueline Smith. They were subsequently married in 1962. After serving in the Air Force and attending the University of California at Berkeley, he stayed in the Bay Area and raised his family in San Jose, CA. He later moved to Mission Viejo in 1989 where he eventually retired from Unisys and enjoyed the remainder of his years together with his beloved wife Jackie until her unfortunate passing in 2010 due to cancer.
Ken loved to be active and outdoors. He was an avid jogger, tennis player, and snow skier. He loved to take his dog on walks and was playing tennis and walking as long as his body allowed. He was a very hard and dependable worker and left a legacy of diligence and fairness when dealing with others. He enjoyed hobbies such as teaching his electrical engineering skills at local colleges, working on cars and general "tinkering" in the yard and around the house. He was always learning something, whether it was how to speak Spanish, photography, or playing the piano. He earned bachelors and masters degrees in Electrical Engineering at UC Berkeley and the University of Santa Clara, respectively. He had a very calm and sweet demeanor and was never quick-tempered.
He was very proud of his children and loved his grandchildren very much. He will be missed by them all.
The funeral service will be held Monday, December 21st, 10:00 am at McCormick & Son Mortuary in Laguna Hills, CA. He will be buried with military honors alongside his wife Jackie at Riverside Memorial Cemetery later that day at 2:01pm.
