IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Kevin Alexander
William Martin
July 20, 1968 – November 10, 2023
Kevin was a truly amazing husband, father, son, brother, and friend. He was fun, thoughtful, incredibly hard-working, and generous, with his highest priority always focused on caring for his family and friends. Kevin had a wonderful sense of humor and always chose fun and playfulness whenever possible. He never went a day without making someone smile. Kevin and his wife Laura have lived in Lake Forest, California for 26 years. He passed away unexpectedly on November 10, 2023 at the age of 55 due to a heart attack.
Kevin was born on July 20, 1968 in Santa Clara, California, to Ann and Ken Martin and grew up in Los Gatos, California. He attended California State University, Long Beach and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering. Kevin had a successful career in software development for 30 years, working at Sharp, AOL, IGN, Carefusion, and Vyaire.
Kevin had an adventurous spirit and a lifelong love of biking. In addition to being an avid biker, he enjoyed pickleball, hiking, ultimate frisbee, swimming and traveling. He and Laura enjoyed many wonderful vacations near and far. He and his family went on a traditional summer vacation to a family camp in Sequoia National Park. Over the years, Kevin also pursued wood working, hang gliding, windsurfing, and volunteering at the animal shelter.
His greatest pride and joy was his family, especially his daughter Jenny. His dedication, devotion, and love as a father was unparalleled. Kevin loved to plan intricate treasure hunts and other fun adventures with her. Recently, they were able to enjoy a mountain bike ride together in Oakridge, Oregon. He also had a special relationship with his niece Emily, who matched his wit and skill in chess.
He created a magical family life filled with creativity and close bonds. Over the last several years, there were unwavering events in his schedule. First was daily exercise and the other was "lunch with Mom and Gil" on Friday. Kevin enjoyed spending time with his sister, Melissa and shared her love of games. Also, Kevin and his best friend Brian would talk on Facetime most days catching up and joking around.
Kevin is survived by his wife of 29 years, Laura Martin, daughter Jennifer Martin, sister Melissa Pike, mother Ann Martin Rowland, stepfather Gil Rowland, as well as aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, step brothers and sister, and close friends. He was predeceased by his father Ken Martin.
