Dr. Kiarash Noorizadeh, born on the 16th of July, 1972, in Tehran, Iran, suddenly passed away at the age of 53 at his home in Irvine, California on the 17th of September, 2025. Born to Morteza Noorizadeh and Nooshin Ghobadi, now passed, he has one sibling, his younger sister, Neusha Noorizadeh, who survives him. He is also survived by the love of his life, his wife, Sepideh Parsa-Motlagh, who he married in 2003, and his son, Ryan Noorizadeh, who was born in 2007 on one of the happiest days of his life.
Kiarash worked as an Internal Medicine Physician for 28 years at multiple workplaces in both Iran and America, where he moved in 2001 and made his second home, even as he always remained connected to his people: after arriving in Southern California in 2013, with its beautiful beaches and robust Iranian-American community, he knew that he would never leave. As a Doctor, Kiarash gained renown as an expert in the fields of both Bioethical matters and Palliative Care Medicine, even going back to school along with his work to earn a degree in Bioethics. He took great pride in the expertise with which he understood not just his branch of medicine, but the field as a whole. He was always in leadership in all the hospitals and healthcare systems he worked in, but he left all the affluent hospitals behind and devoted himself in his final year to working to serve the underprivileged communities of Los Angeles at the LACHC clinic.
Remembered by his friends as a sharp thinker with a big, unfailingly generous heart, Kiarash's hobbies were many: alongside a commitment to lifelong intellectual advancement and study, he was also known as a generous and warm presence around the poker table, or at family holidays. He was fiercely loyal to his friends and family, and many who have endured health difficulties remember how Kiarash was always there for them, utilizing his medical expertise by researching various treatment options, checking in on them during periods of recovery, and supporting them during difficult times. Other friends, including his own family, remember a keen analytical mind always ready to discuss and debate any variety of matters — holding forth on such diverse fields as writing, politics, and game theory — but always canny and lionhearted enough to prevent such disagreements from getting in the way of his relationships with the people he cared about.
He is survived by countless friends and family. Along with them, he is also missed dearly by his dog, Anoosh, who he took such pleasure in spending time with during his final years. He was predeceased by his mother, Nooshin, who died in 2002, and who he missed every day afterwards.
He will be always, achingly missed. To say anything else would not do him justice.
