Henry Larry Ivey passed from this life and entered the gates of Heaven on December 10, 2016.
Larry was 77 years old, and is survived by his beloved wife of over 49 years, Marian, his five children: Roger, Ramon, John, Esther, and Josh; his sister Shirley Reynolds; and his sixteen grandchildren.
Larry was born on February 12, 1939 in Tallahassee, Florida to Daisy and Henry Ivey. Larry had three older sisters, Kay Cribbs, Margie Olson, and Shirley Reynolds.
From the humblest of beginnings, Larry grew to be a man of tremendous talent, integrity and dedication to others. He served as a paratrooper and medic in the United States Army from 1960-1963. He was assigned to the famed 82nd Airborne Infantry Division and saw the Berlin Wall go up. A talented musician, Larry left the Army to pursue a music career that took him to Nashville, San Francisco, and Los Angeles. In late 1966 Larry met the love of his life, Marian, and began his greatest journey building and providing for his family. Larry was a man of honor and humility. He always fought for what was right, was generous in friendship, and had a tremendous heart for the less fortunate. Most of all, through every circumstance and trial, he faithfully loved and served his family, his neighbors, and his Master and Savior, Jesus the Christ.
Larry's family mourns his loss and exults in his new life. He will be laid to rest at the El Toro Memorial park, in Mission Viejo, California
