Laurie Ann
Ostrow
April 28, 1955 – March 30, 2026
Laurie Ann (Martinez) Ostrow, a vivacious spirit whose warmth and character endeared her to everyone she met, passed away peacefully at her home in Mission Viejo on March 30, 2026, surrounded by the family she cherished.
Born in Los Angeles on April 28, 1955, Laurie was the second of seven children and the eldest of five daughters. From a young age, she stepped naturally into the roles of leader and caretaker, qualities that would define her life. After graduating from Pacifica High School in Garden Grove in 1973, Laurie embarked on a distinguished forty-year career in pension plan administration. A highly respected professional with APA and ERPA certifications, she was known for an exacting standard of expertise and commitment. Even in her retirement, her industrious nature led her to enjoy part-time retail work, a testament to her lifelong work ethic.
Laurie lived with an infectious energy and a wide array of interests. She was a lover of the arts—frequently found at concerts, theater performances, and movies—and an avid reader and traveler. Her leadership extended into her personal passions; she served as the President of the Bicycle Club of Irvine for several years and dedicated her time to managing Bingo at Temple Beth Sholom. Whether she was cycling or engaging in community service, Laurie led with confidence and a genuine desire to bring people together.
While her professional and extracurricular achievements were formidable, Laurie’s greatest source of joy was her family. Her legacy of love lives on through her parents, Isabella and Laurence; her sisters, Cindy, Tina, Jane, and Mimi; and her four sons, Adam, Joel (Beth), Drew (Zoe), and Evan. She was the proudest “Safta” to her beloved grandsons, Ender and Theo. Laurie was preceded in death by her brothers, Jacob and Thomas, whose memories she carried in her heart.
Laurie will be deeply missed and forever remembered for her sharp sense of humor, her remarkable resilience, and the wonderful conversations she shared with so many. Above all, her legacy is one of unwavering loyalty and dedication to her friends and family.
May her memory be a blessing.
