Leah Marie Wood Jacot passed away on May 27, 2021, after her six-month battle against aggressive cancer.
Leah Marie Wood Jacot was born February 03, 1968, in Bismarck, North Dakota to her parents Phyllis Wood and Lowell Wood. Leah grew up on the farm near Washburn, North Dakota. She enjoyed planting flowers and gardening. As a youngster she was active in 4H and FFA and enjoyed raising, training and showing livestock.
She attended Washburn High School and graduated from Cal State San Marcos with a bachelor's degree in business.She worked for several technical companies and pursued a 20-year career as a Financial Planner.
Leah & Douglas met in a McDonald's parking lot, the local cruise spot on Friday nights. Leah married Douglas Jacot a graduate of Bismark High School and University of San Diego, in Washburn, North Dakota on May 30, 1992.Their greatest adventures were all the numerous times they moved, 8 times over the last 15 years. Leah was the pro that stayed behind to get the house packed up and truck loaded up for the movers. She would comment; "she didn't need to go on vacation, we will be moving again which means a new place to explore." They shared many beautiful memories and good times through the 29 years they were married.
Leah spent her later years volunteering for various charities and packing and shipping care and homemade goodies to our military troops in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Leah is survived by her husband Doug Jacot of Vista, California.Parents Phyllis Wood and Lowell (Butch) Wood. Parents-in-law: H. Dean and Patricia Jacot formally of Bismark, North Dakota now Plano Texas. Sister:Christine & Larry Olsen and family. Brother-in-laws:Allen Jacot & family from Parker, Colorado & Michael Jacot & family from Aurora, Colorado. Sister-in-law: Jeannette & Marc Cook from Lake Jackson, Texas. Nephews and Nieces too numerous to list.
