Obituary

Pasqualena Theresa Fiore (April 14, 1929 - April 28, 2021) was born to Pacifico and Carmela Santoni in New York City in April 1929. Lena's father came to America from Moresco, Italy; and after passing through Ellis Island, settled in Corona, Queens where he and Carmela raised four children. The second eldest and only daughter; Lena had been a caretaker her entire life, helping to raise her three brothers. She attended Corona J.H.S High School and was a proficient typist. At 18, Lena married Anthony Fiore, who she first saw at a block party after WWII in her neighborhood. After dropping a bowling ball through the alley floor on an early date; their fate was sealed. She had fallen head over heels in love and though her family had moved to California; they all returned to New York so Lena and Tony could marry, which they did on July 20, 1947 at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Corona. Together, Lena and Tony moved to Los Angeles, then to Orange County where they created a beautiful network of family and close friends, who were always welcomed to their table with a warm smile, a delicious meal, and endless laughter. In their 62 years of marriage, Lena and Tony raised four sons, loved four wonderful daughters-in-law, and created beautiful memories with their seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren. It is impossible to have a bigger heart than Lena; she loved so entirely and never let you leave her home without a kiss and a smile. She adored her three brothers, made the most incredible biscotti, had a wicked sense of humor, loved dancing barefoot to Louis Prima, and always rooted for the Yankees. She would be thrilled that her boys in pinstripes shut out the Orioles 7-0 on the day she passed.

Lena joins her beloved husband Tony and two brothers, Frank and Bob in Heaven - where she will forever smile down on us all. She is survived by her four sons Steve, Bob, Ron, and Michael, her daughters-in-law, her brother Richard, and all her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Lena will be missed greatly by those who loved her, but a lifetime of memories and laughter will fill our hearts each time we think of her. Heaven gained another angel, and her family is blessed to know she will continue taking care of us all from above.
