Lillian May Dorsett, born February 4, 1947 in Baltimore, MD, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 13, 2025 in Dana Point, CA at the age of 78. Lillian was the daughter of Roland and Doris Bach, she has seven siblings: Norma Westerfield (passed), Margaret (Penny) Sholl, Roland (Ronnie) Bach, Jr., Helen Hepner, Susan Riley, Gregory (Greg) Bach, and William (Billy) Bach.
She is survived by the love of her life and husband of 55 years, Gerald Thomas (Tom) Dorsett and her three children with Tom: son Erik (Annette) Dorsett, daughter Faith (Steve) Mills, and daughter Melissa (Evan) Elliott. Other survivors include stepson Jerry (Adriene) Dorsett and grandchildren: (Erik) Elijah Dorsett and Isabella Dorsett; (Faith) Hudson Mills, Harlow Mills and Haven Mills; and (Jerry) Callie Dorsett.
Lillian began her career out of high school as a flight attendant with Eastern Airlines. She then spent 40 very successful years as a project manager and consultant for Digital Equipment Corporation, Maximus and retired with SLI Global Solutions in 2020. She was a breast cancer survivor who utilized her experience to volunteer at Rose Hospital in Denver, Colorado, where she counseled many cancer patients through their journeys.
Lillian was a devoted matriarch to whom family was everything. She was so proud of the life she created with Tom and of her children, and she loved to talk about her grandchildren to absolutely everyone. She had an affinity for the golden oldies, especially the Beach Boys, and loved dancing along to them like no one was watching. She loved to travel back to Maryland to see her extended family and enjoy Maryland
blue crabs with her favorite Old Bay seasoning. Lillian also loved traveling to Hawaii and Mexico with her family and on any given Sunday you would see her watching golf or her favorite football team, the Denver Broncos.
Services will be held Monday, June 2, 2025, 2:00pm, at McCormick & Son Mortuaries, 1795 Laguna Canyon Road, Laguna Beach, California, and she will be laid to rest on Tuesday, June 3, 2025, 11:15am, at Miramar National Cemetery, 5795 Nobel Drive, San Diego, California.
