Linda Goar Wilson passed away on January 30th in her home surrounded by her loved ones. She was very much loved and will be missed by family and her many friends. Her smile and eternal optimism will always be cherished in all our memories.

Linda Wilson was born in Pittsfield Massachusetts and following a family relocation to Kansas City, Missouri, received her basic education there, graduating from Southwest High School. In the following years, she earned a BS in Nursing from Kansas University in 1957, and a MS in Health Science in 1988 from Chapman College.

Linda's Professional Career began in 1959 as a Medical/Surgical Staff Nurse at Kansas University Medical Center. In the following years, she worked for Foote Memorial Hospital in Jackson, Michigan before finding her true calling as Professor of Nursing at Golden State Community College in Huntington Beach California. In the twenty-one years at Golden West, she functioned as Professor of Nursing, writer/teacher of nursing curricula, teaching videos, Teacher of psychiatric technicians, Rural Home Care Nurse (Lake Shasta area) and Home Health Care Nurse (So Cal). She retired from Golden West College in 1998.

Leisure World welcomed Linda in 1988. In her years here, she was a director on the United Mutual Board, Landscape Committee Secretary, Transportation Committee Secretary, Golden Rain Foundation Board member, Historical Society Board member and docent, Disaster Preparedness Task Force, represented United on GRF Government and Public Relations. She participated in many of the wonderful clubs offered, and thoroughly enjoyed living in this wonderful community.

She is survived by her children: Douglas Wilson, Elizabeth Wilder (Martin), Deborah Wilson and Rebecca Spence (Craig); eight grandchildren, two great grandchildren and siblings Jim Goar (Eileen), Betsy Sexton (Jim).

Linda's ashes will be scattered at sea off the Orange County coastline in a private ceremony attended by her family.
