Louis J. Ellis II passed away in Orange County on September 22,2022 at the age of 66. He was born on September 13, 1956, in Chicago, IL to his parents Louis J. Ellis Sr and Philomena Ellis. Louis, also referred to as Big Lou, was charismatic and creative.  He never apologized for who he was; how he to choose to live; or his point of view. Louis loved singing with his band, politics, nature and most importantly the Chicago Bears.

Although his life might have been shortened by illness, he lived a full and picturesque life. Louis truly enjoyed his time in the Northern California Mountains. The area has been devastated with wildfires.  When making his medical directive he asked for his ashes to be spread near a tree.  The family is asking you to consider making a donation to have a tree planted in his honor.

Louis was preceded in death by his sister Bonnie Kanuga.

Louis is survived by his son, Louis J. Ellis III and daughter-in-law Michaela Ellis; sibling, Glynis Gonzales and her husband Mario; grandchildren, Wrigley, Carver and Sawyer; nephew and nieces, Ethan Gonzalez and his wife Alexis, Marcella Gonzalez, Maegen Shields and Louis Shields Jr.

A celebration of life is to be announced a later time.
