Our sweet baby, Luca Dane Schrader passed away peacefully in the arms of his loving parents, Trent Schrader and Tyler Bautista; surrounded by his loving sister Maizie, grandparents Rebecca & Brian Schrader and Neil & Janet Bautista; and most of his extended family at the Ronald Reagan/UCLA Mattel Children's Hospital in Los Angeles, California on November 1, 2022.

Luca was born prematurely on January 24, 2022, weighing at 15 oz. From the day he was born, Luca proved himself to be a fighter as he fought through medical ups and downs, various complications, several transports from one hospital to another, numerous surgeries, and countless procedures. At some point he was written off by some of his doctors, but he proved them wrong as he fought through that and showed unrivaled resilience and strength. But even the fiercest warriors need their rest and with heavy hearts we watched him lay down his sword to take a much-needed respite. In the short time he was here, he earned our respect and admiration in the way that he battled through the struggles his little body could endure. And with that respect and admiration, he was showered with love – by everyone, not just by his family, but by his nurses and other caregivers as well. We would have loved to watch him grow into a fierce young man but that would be selfish on our part, so we will continue to love him, our Baby Luca, the Warrior, in our memories and hearts forever.

Luca is preceded in death by great grand parents; Robert and Annette Marhsall, Victoriano Bautista, Carol Swarts. Uncle Dane Schrader. He is survived by parents Trent Schrader and Tyler Bautista, and big sister Maizie. Uncles Zack (Alex Cruz) Bautista and Christian Jocson. Grand parents Brian and Rebecca Schrader, Neil (Janet) Bautista, Stephani Bautista. Great grand parents Kathy Schrader (Don Richardson), Nori (Arnulf) Bautista, and Dale Swarts. Luca is also survived by his many loving great aunts and uncles, and cousins.

Family and friends will be received on Thursday, November 10th at McCormick and Son Mortuary from 12:00PM to 6:00PM.
