IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Lucille G
Stock
May 25, 1944 – June 27, 2022
Lucille Germain Stock, born May 25, 1944, in Portland, Maine, to Margret and Brad Germain, passed peacefully at Providence Mission Vejo Hospital on Monday, June 27, 2022, after battling cancer for the past year. Lucille was "Luce" to Ronald Stock, her husband of fifty years, and "Luci" to her friends and family. "Ma" to her son and wife, Joshua and Jen Stock, and "Miss Luci" to Derek Stock, her stepson. And she was "Grammy" to her five grandchildren, who she dearly loved, JJ and Elle, Josh's children, and Nitai, Kishore, and Shreya to the children of Derek and Amanda Hammond from his first marriage.
Luci graduated from Deering High School in 1962 and began her work career in the medical field at Maine Medical Center. She picked up and moved to Silver Lake, California with her friend Nina Venic. There Luci rode the bus to work every day, saved money and purchased her pride and joy, he first car, a hot 1966 Chevy Camaro. She found a career opportunity with Hyland Laboratories as a blood bank technician. In 1968, she met her husband Ron on a company bus to the company's new corporate building in Costa Mesa, yelling at Ron to put out a cigar he was smoking at 7:00 in the morning. Ron responded, "this Italian beauty I want to marry." In a whirlwind romance, Luci and Ron married in Las Vegas on November 11, 1970, in the historic Chapel of the Stars, where Elvis married.
Luci supported her husband's Hyland career, moving to Chicago, where she found the family's first home and where Josh, her son, was born. Four years after a corporate move, the family relocated back to Laguna Beach, purchasing their home where she resided for 47 years. During her residence, she worked in the leisure travel business and obtained her real estate license while getting her AA degree at Saddleback College. A dog and cat lover, she loved and lost several animals in the years at her home; her favorites were Yorkie Buttons, living twenty years, and Di and Dodi. Di lived twenty years.
She became the office manager for Ron's Medicare insurance business. For twenty-five years, she managed and decorated the company's offices: an 1877 National Historical mansion in Santa Ana, the corporate office in the Irvine Spectrum area, and this March, the company's new offices in Fullerton and Newport Beach. Her creative decorating skills carried on to a manufactured home for her family in Laguna Terrace Park and her vacation cabin in Lake Arrowhead while continually updating her Laguna Beach home. You count on when Luci had her Pantone color guide in hand, and something was going to be changed!
Luci loved to exercise, religiously attending water aerobics at the Laguna High School swimming pool even in cold weather. She was into yoga and spinning, purchasing her spin cycle during the Covid shutdown. Luci purchased her swim spa for her Lake Arrowhead home, recently getting in one swim before passing. Unfortunately, due to Covid and her illness, she never got to attend her favorite Rams games at the new SoFi stadium, getting owner seats purchased for her seventh birthday.
For their 50th Wedding Anniversary, Ron surprised her with charter jets from OC to Las Vegas for the entire family, staying at the Red Rock Resort. Luci loved her Italian heritage and had traveled twice to her father and mother's heritage homes in Italy.
St. Catherine of Sienna was her church, sending Derek and Josh to St Catherine School, where Josh graduated and delivered the graduation ceremony remarks.
Services for family members were held at McCormick and Sons, and a Celebration of Her Life is planned for August in Laguna Beach. In time, her ashes will be interned at Pacific View Cemetery in Corona del Mar, where Ron, her loving husband, join with her at his passing.
If asked to describe the joys of her life simply, she would say with pride, "My marriage, my family, and my God."
