Luis A. Gamarra was born in Lima, Peru on December 29, 1933 and passed quickly on Friday January 27 ^th , 2023 at the age of 89 years old in Lake Forest, California.

He immigrated to the United States in 1958 and met his future wife Rosa in White Plains, New York. He raised his family of 5 children in New York and Connecticut. He ran a successful maintenance company called "LG and Sons" and worked as a supervisor for various industrial companies.  He became a US citizen and was always appreciative of the opportunities and life he was able to create here.  He moved to Morro Bay, California in 2015 to be closer to some of his family.

He is survived by his children/and their spouses: Lewis/Natalie, Elsie, Alfred/Karen, Alphonso, Hector/Dianne and the mother of his children Rosa. He loved his grandchildren/and their spouse: Matthew, Christina, Gregory/Nicole, Ashlee, Jennifer and Zachary and in the last few years of his life his great grandson Xavier.

Luis loved being by the sea and enjoying all types of seafood, along with watching soccer and playing dominos.  He had a strong faith about God, was passionate about his family and was always willing to lend a hand to anyone who needed help.  He will be missed dearly.

A family graveside service will be held Saturday, February 4th, 2023 at Ascension Cemetery at 24754 Trabuco Rd, Lake Forest, CA 92630.  The family plans to hold a Memorial Mass in August, 2023.
