Lynda W. Nicholson, of Laguna Beach, California, passed away quietly at home on January 22, 2016 at the age of 81. She was born in Robinson, Illinois and grew up in Long Island, NY. She graduated from Bucknell University in 1956. Married at age 22, she moved to Claremont, CA and raised a family. In 1976 she moved to Laguna Beach, CA to pursue her ceramics and her love for the ocean.
For the next 30 years, as a member of the Laguna Beach art community she participated in the Festival of Arts & the Sawdust Festival for her ceramics. Her work was also commissioned for a local hotel. A life‐long learner, Lynda was always taking art classes, jewelry‐making, silk/oil/watercolor painting, printmaking and ceramics. A free spirit who loved the outdoors, traveling and art. She will be missed dearly by family, friends and the community.
Lynda is survived by her three children Katy Brian (Mark) of Park City, UT, Tracy Tennant (Chuck) of Riverside, CA and Alex Tennant (Taryn) of Dana Point, CA; grandchildren Krissy Brian, Jacky Brian and Riley Tennant.
A celebration of her life will be held on February 13, 2016 between 4pm and 7pm at the
Hotel Laguna, 425 S. Coast Hwy, Laguna Beach, CA 92651, (949) 494‐1151.
