IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Manmohan Singh
Dhillon
May 20, 1937 – June 29, 2023
Manmohan Singh Dhillon (Mohan) was born May 20th, 1937, in Punjab, India. He was one of a family with nine siblings. Mohan moved to Singapore as a child where he was an avid football player, a passion which stayed with him for the rest of his life, and a track star. After completing national service in Singapore, he immigrated to England by ship. Once in England, Mohan lived in Southall, West London and worked for Alitalia Airlines at Heathrow Airport for more than thirty years.
Mohan then met and married Parkash Aulakh and with her had three children: Roma, Raju, and Jessie. They raised their beloved children in Cranford, where Mohan was known in the community as a kind and thoughtful man. Mohan took loving care of his family, had a love for gardening (another lifelong passion) and continued to follow football with his favorite team being Arsenal. Often Mohan brought home people he found waiting for a flight who had no hotel. He offered them food and a bed if needed before sending them off for their next flight. After over forty years in England, Mohan and Parkash immigrated once again, this time to the United States, settling in Southern California.
Mohan spent the next nineteen years enjoying Laguna Niguel and loved taking the bus along the Pacific Coast Highway, visiting the Sikh temple in Buena Park, and visiting local cities and markets. Every four years Mohan and the Dhillon family celebrated the world cup, as they used to be in England. Mohan is survived by his loving wife of over sixty years Parkash Dhillon, his children Roma (SIL - Nirmal), Raju and Jessie (SIL - Narinder), and his three loving grandchildren Karam, Aaron and Jasmyn.
