Obituary

Marguerite Adeline "Margo" Borst ( Bruns), 89, passed away on March 16, 2025, in Newport Beach, California.

Born on September 2, 1935, in Hartsburg, Illinois, Margo spent her early years in Illinois growing up on a farm before moving to Arizona, where she completed high school. She pursued her passion for nursing at Good Samaritan Nursing School in Arizona, earning her degree and dedicating much of her life to caring for others. Soon after completing Nursing School she moved to California and worked initially at Hoag Hospital. It wasn't long after this that she met Philip Borst at a Church function. They married soon after, had three children - David, Kristin and Pamela, and moved to Placentia, CA. Throughout her nursing career, she worked in various hospitals and doctors' offices, finding fulfillment in helping those in need.

Beyond her profession, Margo had a love for reading, shopping, sailing and vacationing with family. She was actively involved in organizations such as The Littlest Angel Guild, Placentia Roundtable, and Meals on Wheels.  She was PTA President at her kids' elementary school and a Girl Scout Troop Leader, demonstrating her commitment to both her children's education and the well-being of others. Early in her marriage, she and her husband Phil attended the Methodist Church in Fullerton. Though she did not attend church later in life, she remained steadfast in her Christian faith.

Margo deeply cherished her family. She is survived by her daughters Kristin Borst Baiza and Pamela Traut, grandchildren Conrad Orr, Jr., Philip Orr, Brianna Rettig, and Frank Liosi and great-grandchildren Madelyn Orr, Conrad Orr III, Vance Erwin, and Olivia Orr. She was preceded in death by her parents Lydia and Oran Bruns; sister Marion Lolling; brother Ray Bruns; son David Borst, sister-in-law Joyce Bruns; and brother-in-law Wendell Lolling.

Later in life, Margo divorced but never remarried. She built strong friendships within her community and spent the last three years living independently at Ivy Park at Bradford in Placentia. She remained active until falling ill in February 2025.

Margo's warmth and devotion to family will be remembered by all who knew her. May her memory bring comfort to those who loved her.
